My name is Laurie. I'm 34 and I live in a suburb of Houston, TX. My life isn't super exciting or ultra dramatic, but I love it! My blogs are just a peek into my life as I know it. I'm quite random and have an opinion on everything, but I love everyone's aspect on things, even if I disagree. The world would be quite boring if not! :-)

Addiction

I am an addict. I've always had an addictive personality. I rely on something stronger than me to make it through the day. Yes, I used to be addicted to food. No - I am still addicted to food, but I usually have that very controlled. My addiction that I seem to have no control over is coffee. I don't feel alive if I don't have some coffee in my bloodstream. I did so well for quite some time after my surgery by consuming NO caffeine. That's certainly not the case anymore! I love it.. I need it! I've tried transferring my addiction to working out and other positive actions, but I still can't kick it. UGH!!!

Anyway.. that's my continuous confession. I'm out of control!

Beyond that - I'm still sore from my Muscle Blast workout. I am starting to see a little definition in my arms though, and that's amazing! I only wish my wings would magically fly off on their own. As much as I want to have surgery to get rid of my extra skin, I can honestly say that it's not in the top 50 things I would do if I had that much money. So instead, I will wallow in self pity for all of you to read! :) Dontcha just love the idea of that!? HA!!

Today I have a dentist appointment. I have a dermatologist appointment in June (yes, they're booked that far ahead!) to see if I can get my rosacea under control a little better. I also have a follow up with my gastroenterologist (say that 3 times fast!) in two weeks for a follow up appointment on my last gastroscope. Everytime that I have a scope, a biopsy is done on the ulcer to make sure that it's not cancerous, and so far, so good. I will also schedule my 3rd gastroscope for the year, hopefully with better results (no ulcer!).

At work, I have a new boss starting today. My previous one resigned to start flipping houses (I'm JEALOUS!!), so wish me luck on liking her! :)

Hope you all are having a lovely day!!

Oh, my bat wings are hear to stay for me too I'm afraid. Plastic surgery is crazy expensive, so I guess I'm with you... forever may they hang.

Glad you're blogging more! Good luck with the new boss- that is kind of nerveracking.

I'm not a coffee addict but I do miss it and have to treat myself every so often, despite the fact that I only like it iced and sweet (preferably chocolaty)!

I have two mainstream coffee sources I like: bottled Starbucks Frappuccinos now have a version that is sweetened with Splenda (I pick a few up on sale now and then) and the iced coffee at McDonald's comes in sugar-free if you can stand vanilla, and it's cheaper than most stands.

I like the Believe ready-to-drinks, too, but they're only coffee-ish...probably not high-octane enough for most coffee lovers!

I dream of plastic surgery...thinking of checking into universities to have it done at a discount. An aunt of mine who had stomach stapling back in the '70s got all her post-op plastic surgery done that way at a radical discount, and the work was high quality.
